oh fun!

Last week was a whirlwind of fun and out-of-the-ordinary activities.

It all started on Friday when I left work and we (Mama Kat and I) drove to Florida to help clean out my Grammie's large den so when she came home from the re-hab center she would be able to get around. 3 days, 9 trips to the church with yard sale stuff and 1600 lbs to the landfill later, the room is livable!
On the way back to Franklin we made a small stop in Atlanta to watch The Lion King. Amazing. If you've never seen is, you should. It'll be in Atlanta until May 3rd. It is amazing.

Thursday I went to my first ever bachelor party!!! Nothing to wild, just dinner in Atlanta and a little shopping at the Mall of Georgia...although, the boys in the back seat got a little crazy. AND the way home marked the 3rd time I've been in a car driven by a certain one of my roommates when she got pulled over. Gotta love those flashing blue lights!!!

Friday I had a very fun dinner with Cam, our future roommate Lisa, and 2 random people picked up by Lisa hiking the Appalician Trail. Very good and interesting conversation. Chris had been in Irag helping his mother start several non-profits and an orphanage. Meeting new and interesting people doesn't often happen in Franklin but it is fun when it does even if those people are only passing through.

Also of note on Friday, a pipe was broken in the remodling of our hall bathroom and Cam and I went the weekend roughing it without water. Quite the adventure but by no means the only adventure of the weekend!

Saturday was Scotty and Nikki's wedding (oh yeah!). It was a beautiful ceremony and everyone had a great time. I'm so thrilled that they finally did it!!!

When Cam and I got back to town we went for a hike in the woods that had some absolutely beautiful views! I had no idea of the lay-out of this area and was surprised at what I could see after walking only a short way. We ended up on a different trail then the one Camila meant to take and started to race against the approaching nightfall to get out before dark. 3.5 hours after we started (from our house) we ended up at the top of Mill Creek Country Club just at dusk and Cam's mom came and picked us up. It was fun, I haven't hiked in a long while.

Wow! What a cool week! You did the trails beyond my house? They are really cool. Being able to quickly get to nature is something I miss so much living in the concrete jungle. Luckily we have lots of good parks, but is not the same. Miss you girl!

How wonderful! A weekend of adventure and surprise! Many I meet naively think living in Franklin must have been beautiful but boring. Obviously they do not know you (or me very well for that matter). The best part is that meeting the future roomate's random AT hiker friends is free and fun while meeting a future roomate's random friends here could cost you your life! They've also never been to Millcreek at sunset!

Okay, that sounded a little complainy. For the record, I am thanking the Lord for the rainbows!
